Accessibility

What is accessibility?

The aim of an accessible website is for it to be easy to use by people with a variety of disabilities. These may include users who cannot use a mouse to navigate around the site. Therefore accessskeys may be added to any site. These allow the user to press one letter on the keyboard to access the pages.

The site should also work as a text only site to make it easier to read for the visually impaired, mechanisms to allow the text to be enlarged are built into most browsers but users may wish to have the ability to enlarge text from within the site. If you require any of these accessibility options on your site please let me know.

Pages can be validated via the W3C Validator  and assessed to make sure they are accessible to users with disabilities according to Wave.webaim

There are good guildelines on the BBC website – My Web My Way.
